Work out an indicative STR filing deadline
Enter the moment your institution formed the suspicion and this returns the filing deadline that follows, in West Africa Time, with a calendar reminder you can download. Read the caution below first: the filing window applied here has not been verified against the operative regulation.
Detection details
All times are treated as West Africa Time (UTC+01:00), which observes no daylight saving. If you are working in another time zone, convert before entering.
Enter a detection date to see a deadline
Nothing is computed until you submit the form, and nothing you enter is stored or transmitted anywhere except as the address of the page you are sent back.
How this works
- The clock starts at detectionThis tool assumes the window runs from the moment the institution forms the suspicion (detection), not the transaction date and not the date of internal escalation. If your policy starts it elsewhere, the answer here will be wrong by that difference.
- Time is fixed-offset, not zonedEverything is computed in West Africa Time, UTC+01:00, which has no daylight saving. That is what lets the arithmetic be exact with no time-zone database involved.
- The reminder is generated hereThe .ics file is built by this site's own server from the same module that computed the deadline on screen. No calendar service is contacted and no data leaves the application.
What this tool does not do: it does not know your institution type, it does not distinguish report kinds, and it does not apply an internal escalation buffer. If any of those change the deadline you actually work to — and for most institutions the internal deadline is earlier than the statutory one — the figure to enter in the filing-window field is your internal one, not the regulator’s.
Where deadlines are actually managed
- Governed reportingSTR and CTR generation from versioned mappings, with the filing deadline tracked against the detection event rather than a spreadsheet.
- NFIU and goAMLSubmission formats, validation and what the authority returns as evidence of filing.
- Regulatory calendarFiling dates and reporting cycles across the year, not just the one in front of you.

A deadline you have to calculate is a deadline you can miss
In a governed reporting workflow the clock starts when the alert is raised and the deadline travels with the case. Let us show you what that looks like against your own reporting obligations.
